Spent the day in 30° weather in the rain, clearing brush and small trees from a field around a trail. took us 6 hours, but we finished cutting down everything, all that's left are the piles to be hauled away. We got 8 loads on the flat bed so far but still more for tomorrow. We got to use loppers and hand saws, wish we were told to wear our coveralls for my uniform was disgustingly dirty! Tomorrow I'm def be more prepared. Here are some pictures!
You can look at this forest as a metaphor for your journey in Iowa. Looks like an impossible task, yet with hard work, a clearing is formed.
